MERT Release 0, otherwise known as UNIX Program Generic 1C600 Issue 1, is a real-time supervisor implementing the UNIX operating environment. MERT Release 0 follows an earlier version supported by Heinz Lycklama and Douglas Bayer and was to be followed by the UNIX/RT system in fall of 1978 to correspond with the UNIX/TS time-sharing environment.
MERT Release 0 is based on USG Program Generic Issue 3, released March, 1977. The manual above consists mainly of the Issue 3 manual with indicated pages replaced with those representing the environment provided in MERT.
